Stereo Tutorial - using JAC
(a freeware dedicated conversion program).

This final method needs no knowledge of Photoshop or Paintshop Pro.

You will need a program called JAC ( Joerg's Anaglyph Composer v1.00) this Freeware program is available from Joerg Schrammel, you can find his homepage at http://www.schrammel.org . Follow his link to 'How to make 3d Anaglyphs with Povray' Which gives examples (Povray) and download access for JAC.

JAC is a MsDos based program, but don't let that put you off, it is very easy to use, once downloaded unzip it to a convenient directory ( I'll assume for this tutorial drive C:\JAC ).

JAC can only handle Targa (.tga) images so it will be necessary to convert the two left/right images from Bryce's .bmp format to .tga (Targa) and then copy them to the JAC Folder. There are many shareware utilities that will do this so it should not be a problem.

In Windows open up a MsDos session, it will probably default to your windows directory, eg C:\windows>

At the flashing cursor, it is easier if we are in same folder as the JAC program. If you are familiar with Dos you can probably figure out the rest, if not then read on........

Type CD C:/JAC <return>

Type JAC <return>, the program should respond with a title banner and usage information.
This confirms we are ready to go.

Type JAC rightpic.tga leftpic.tga finalpic.tga <return>

Jac will load the two images, perform its merge and save the resultant as finalpic.tga (in this example)

That's it!
Grab your glasses load up finalpic.tga in your favourite image viewer program, voila your first 3D stereo Anaglyph Bryce image.

My thanks to Joerg for allowing use of his program in these tutorial pages
